Why Kunzea oil is my new favourite thing!
You may have noticed that I have started stocking some amazing new products from Zea Relief. I was using these on myself and I loved them so much, I had to get them in and share with you. So today I am going to talk more about why Kunzea oil is my new favourite thing.
What is Kunzea?
Kunzea ambigua is an Australian native plant, found in the cooler south-east coastal areas. It’s also known as Tasmanian Kunzea, Tick Bush, Poverty Bush, White Kunzea, and White Cloud. It has been used by Indigenous cultures for centuries.
It has scent of the Australia bush with clean, fresh, invigorating undertones. It is similar to tea tree oil but has a higher content of active compounds, is not as strong in scent and is gentle on skin.
“The story goes that a local farmer noticed the effect the Kunzea bushes were having on the local animal life and because of this decided to extract the oil and do some experiments. This led to a variety of Kunzea oil being listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), and the discovery of the many benefits of this unique plant oil.”
Zea Relief have harnessed the power of Kunzea oil and used it in various products.
What are the benefits of Kunzea?
Skin Inflammation. Kunzea may relieve irritation caused by dry, red skin and help with healing blemishes. It can also be used for psoriasis and eczema.
Aches and pains. The anti-inflammatory properties may help to reduce inflammation and relieve pain in muscles.
Arthritis and joint swelling. Kunzea oil’s pain-relieving properties mean that it may also be an effective treatment for arthritis and aiding joint mobility.
Nervous tension, stress and mild anxiety. As well as its anti-inflammatory uses, Kunzea oil has also been used for treating stress and anxiety.
Headaches & Respiratory Ailments. The presence of alpha-pinene and 1,8 cineole in Kunzea oil give it potential properties for treating all various respiratory complaints. Some of these include cold, cough, running nose, sore throat, asthma, nasal congestion, bronchitis, and sinusitis.
Tick and Insect Repellent and Bite Soothing. Kunzea has been found to have similar benefits as Citronella oils in keeping away insects and ticks. It is also useful for applying to bites and stings for relief of inflammation.
Fungal & Bacterial Infections: Kunzea oil has been tested for its effectiveness against a number of disease-causing bacteria. Kunzea is particularly effective against Staphylococcus aureus, including the MRSA variety (multiple antibiotic resistants).
Mental Exhaustion: Kunzea has a cooling and refreshing effect as a stimulant it helps combat exhaustion and rejuvenate the spirits.
